Course 1
What you'll do.
Each lesson ends with one small task on your own material, so you finish with a produced lecture, not just notes.
- Lesson 1 · 15 minPlan it, don't script it
Outline a lecture for the camera: one idea per segment, the examples that need a visual, and a running time you can keep.
- Lesson 2 · 15 minLook at the lens
Light, sound and framing with what you already own, and how a teleprompter keeps you on time without reading at students.
- Lesson 3 · 15 minFrom raw recording to produced lecture
Cleanup, structure, teaching visuals and captions, done on your own recording with your free minutes.
- QuizTen questions
Pass the quiz to receive a certificate of completion by email.
Why these lessons
What the research says, and what it doesn't.
Large studies of online video found that students engage longer with short, well-planned segments than with long reused classroom recordings, and that expensive studio production is not what holds them (Guo, Kim and Rubin, 2014). Reviews link seeing the instructor with stronger engagement and social presence; the evidence on test scores is mixed, so we don't promise them.
That is why Course 1 starts with planning and presence rather than software, and only then shows how a raw recording is produced.
