Privacy Policy

What the legal entity of Lecture Studio does with personal data on the website, in the application and in the Teleprompter.

In short

  • We use your lectures to produce your lectures. We do not sell personal data or use recordings for advertising.
  • The website has no advertising cookies. We count visits ourselves, without cookies, and that data stays on our own server.
  • The Teleprompter runs in your browser and sends us nothing.
  • You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time.

1. Who is responsible

Lecture Studio is operated by the legal entity of Lecture Studio (“Lecture Studio”, “we”, “us”). It is responsible for the personal data described in this policy, except where section 6 says otherwise.

For anything about your personal data, write to contact@lecturestudio.ai.

2. What we collect

When you fill in a form on the website (to send a lecture, request a pilot or download a white paper): your name, email address, organisation, role or designation, phone number if the form asks for it, and what you write. With each submission we also record the IP address and browser type it came from.

When you create an account: your email address, the one-time codes we send you to sign in, and the details of your workspace.

When you send us a lecture: the recording itself, which contains the image and voice of the presenter and of anyone else who appears in it; any script, slide deck, logo or names you add; and what the Service makes from them, such as transcripts, captions, plans and produced videos.

When you use the Teleprompter: nothing is sent to us. It runs in your browser. Your script, deck and recordings are handled on your own device, recordings are saved to your own computer, and your script and settings are kept in your browser’s local storage so they are there next time.

When you pay: payments are handled by a payment provider. We receive confirmation of the payment and your billing details, not your full card number.

When you browse the website: the pages you view, the links and buttons you click, the site that sent you, how far you scroll and how long a page stays open, with your device type, browser, language and time zone. A random number kept in your browser’s local storage lets us see which pages belong to the same visitor. We do not store your IP address with this. If you send a form, the email you typed is linked to these visits so we can see which pages led to your enquiry. Nothing is recorded if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

Technical records: like most services, our servers log requests: IP address, browser type, the page or file requested and the time.

3. Cookies and similar storage

The website at lecturestudio.ai does not use advertising cookies. To count visits it keeps a random visitor number in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie); clearing your browser’s site data removes it, and Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control switches it off. The application uses the cookies or browser storage it needs to keep you signed in. The Teleprompter stores your script and settings in your browser, on your device.

Our pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers to fetch them.

4. How we use it

  • to provide the Service: to sign you in, produce your lectures and let your workspace review them;
  • to answer enquiries and send what you asked for, such as a white paper or a sample;
  • to send service messages about your account or your lectures;
  • to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse;
  • to understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so that we can improve it;
  • to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your recordings for advertising. We send marketing email only if you asked for it, and every such message has a way to stop.

5. Automated processing and people

Lectures are processed by automated systems, including artificial-intelligence services run by providers we engage, to transcribe the recording, plan the lecture and create its visuals. We send content to those providers only to produce your lectures.

People at Lecture Studio may view your content where that is needed to deliver the Service, check quality, fix a problem or answer a question you raised.

6. Lectures from institutions

When a university, school or company uses Lecture Studio, the institution decides why and how the personal data in its lectures is used. Lecture Studio handles that data on the institution’s instructions. If you appear in a lecture that your institution sent us and you have a question or a request about it, contact the institution first; we will help it respond.

If a recording includes other people, such as students in a classroom, whoever uploads it is responsible for having the right to record and share it.

7. Who we share it with

  • the members of your own workspace;
  • providers that work for us under contract: hosting and storage, email delivery, automated and AI processing, and payments;
  • authorities, where the law requires it;
  • a successor, if the Lecture Studio business is reorganised or transferred, under the same protections.

8. Where it is processed

Lecture Studio and its providers operate in more than one country, so your data may be stored and processed outside the country where you live. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we put them in place.

9. How long we keep it

We keep personal data for as long as it is needed for the purposes above: account and lecture data while your account is open, enquiries for as long as we need to respond and keep a record of the exchange, technical logs for a limited period, and records of website visits for 180 days. After that we delete or anonymise it. Copies in backups expire on their own schedule.

You can ask us to delete your account and content at any time by writing to contact@lecturestudio.ai.

10. Security

Connections to the website and the application are encrypted, and access to content is limited to the people and systems that need it. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • see the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • have it corrected;
  • have it deleted;
  • object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it;
  • withdraw a consent you gave;
  • complain to your data-protection authority.

To use any of these rights, write to contact@lecturestudio.ai. We will respond within the time the law allows. We may need to confirm who you are first.

12. Children

Lecture Studio is for educators and institutions. It is not directed at children, and children may not hold an account. Where a lecture is made for or includes younger students, the school or teacher who sends it is responsible for the permissions that requires.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders by email or in the application.
